In the series of “Reading the Islandy Culture”, the latitude is the compilation of the cultural landscape of Taiwan whereas the longitude is the exploration of the hidden ordinary arts. Every year, lectures are organized based on different life themes so that the public can get to know about the life culture and artistic aesthetics of the island – food, clothing, living, and all kinds of activities.
In July of this year, we launched the theme of “What does Art Eat? The Six Living Creative Works with Food” and invited six speakers of different fields – design, action art, curation, painting, literature, collection, and illustration – to share the nutrients of their creative works in Or Book Store (Hsinchu), Central Bookstore (Taichung), and Maison Temps-Rêves (Taipei).
